About

Who we are

USFansUS is a fan-gear review desk based in Portland, Oregon. We started in 2019 as a two-person project logging the replica jerseys and scarves we bought for our own supporters' groups, and we have grown into a small team that orders, wears, washes and re-checks the merchandise fans actually spend money on.

Our testing team buys every featured product at retail with our own funds. We then run the same checklist: order and dispatch timing, packaging condition, seam and print inspection, fit checks across body sizes, five wash-and-wear cycles, and a side-by-side comparison table against two or three comparable items.

How we score

We score on a five-point scale: 5 excellent, 4 good, 3 adequate, 2 poor, 1 very poor. Every featured product carries a score, a dated test note and a link to the comparison data behind it. We retest on a 12-month cadence.

Who runs the desk

Three editors run USFansUS: Dana Whitlock (Editor-in-Chief), Priya Ramanathan (Reviews Editor) and Colin Nakamura (Research Editor). Their on-site author pages are our only canonical profiles; we do not maintain social media accounts for the team.

How we are funded

USFansUS earns commissions from qualifying purchases made through links on this site. That funding model is described in full in our affiliate disclosure, and it does not change how we score a product.

Questions, corrections and test requests go to editorial@usfansus.com.

Our coverage focus

We review sports fan jerseys and supporter gear through fit, seams, prints and wash care. Readers can compare garment measurements and the condition after washing, while keeping fan-style descriptions separate from evidence of official licensing.

Meet the editors.

  • Dana Whitlock

Dana Whitlock is Editor-in-Chief, covering licensed sports apparel, replica jersey construction, fan collectibles authentication, and test desk operations. They write jersey reviews and annual buying guides, work with the site's five-point scoring scale and 12-month retest cadence, and sign off on scores before publication. Dana personally completes the flagship jersey checklist, covering order records, packaging photographs, crest and seam inspection under the light box, size-range fit checks, and five wash-and-wear cycles. A table compares two or three reference jerseys, and the score is written only after the retest date is set.

  • Priya Ramanathan

Priya Ramanathan is Reviews Editor, covering textile durability, wash testing, fit grading across body types, and scarf and cap construction. They own USFansUS' wash-and-wear protocol, maintain fit logs for scarves, caps, and training wear, and edit reviews before Dana Whitlock assigns a score. Every garment undergoes five wash cycles at 30 degrees, with color shift, shrinkage, and print edge lift recorded after each cycle, alongside scarf measurements and cap-adjuster checks. Any item that splits a seam during testing is reordered before editing continues. They also build the comparison tables that sit beside each review.

  • Colin Nakamura

Colin Nakamura is Research Editor, covering licensing records, SKU tracking, price history, retailer support timing, and catalog cross-checks. They verify every product identifier at USFansUS, build buying-guide price histories, and log retailer support response times for agent timing notes. SKUs are checked against supplier and retailer listings, prices are tracked from the order date through the following 12 months, and each retailer receives one sizing and one returns question. Identifiers that cannot be matched to two independent listings are held back until confirmed. The test note logs how long each live-support service takes to send its first response.
